Serge! Thanks for such a great newsletter! I've only been subscribing to it for just a few months now, but it has helped me so much. My site went from number 72 to being number 4 and I owe it all to you.

My question is: I'm hearing more and more of buying links from other websites, in order to help with your PR and your link popularity. I'm in the car rental business and about 20% of my sales now come from the Web. I'd like to increase that to more than 40%. Do you think if I start buying one way links to my site it would help me achieve that? Again, thanks for such a fine publication.

First, I recommend you read the article I just wrote a few weeks ago on Buying or Leasing Links. I prefer to call it 'link leasing', since it better describes what it does. Link buying or leasing now is more 'accepted' and tends to be less viewed as "evil" like it used to be not that long ago.
