The only difference here is that you used the paid inclusion facilities of certain search engines, as opposed to waiting months (or more) for the spiders to come to your website. As a result, rankings obtained through paid inclusion programs won’t be identified as “Sponsored Links”, and will be shown on the left side of the search results page, in the case of Google.
