In other developments on Monday, news portal Internet Trends.org and Web Talk Guys.com published the Top 5 Internet Trends shaping up 2004, a very interesting report which I found enlightening, shedding some light in what will happen for the balance of 2004. Among other views, the report hints that, in place of the Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or Opera), a strong growth of the Internet is now actually being observed as "connected executables" or Internet applications that perform various Web services or search requests, are delivered through task-specific applications, and not through the traditional Web browser. Even the Real One media player or Microsoft's new Windows Media Player have integrated web viewing features built into these end-user applications. Web Talk Guys also predict that there will be a decline of the Web browser for the last half of 2004, which should further accelerate in 2005.
