Hello to all of you. Well Google finally updated its long-awaited PR (PageRank) database. Google's last PR update was around June 2nd of this year! At the beginning of 2004, Google used to update its PR about every 4 to 5 weeks, sometimes every 6 weeks.

But for Google to take more than 4 months is unprecedented. There are all kinds of rumors or theories in the forums of why Google is doing this. If you want to know more, just read one of last week's articles I wrote: " Is Google PR still important? ".

     Closing Note     So what about this week's Google PR update?

As I clearly pointed out, Google's PR isn't everything, but rather is part of a much more complex ranking algorithm. However, it is still important and can still make a big difference in the search results pages. With all else being equal, a higher PR will usually produce a higher ranking website.

As an indicator of what's been happening lately, on or about September 24, there used to be only one GoogleBot. What's a GoogleBot you may ask? GoogleBot is a search engine crawler (or spider) that visits your website, in the never-ending quest for fresh and new content. If you add new content or update your site daily, it will come to 'spider' your website more often! Trust me-- it works.
